Fall Festival Fundraising for the DNPA

We're excited to add a few fundraising activities to the Fall Festival this year.  Please visit the DNPA booth to purchase and learn more about:

  • Parent Hosted Parties:  Families have signed up to host an ice cream party, a professional photo shoot, a day at the zoo and more.  These are a great opportunity for a planned playdate and community building event.  Some even include babysitting!
  • Art Project Raffle Tickets:  Each classroom will be making a special art project that we will sell raffle tickets for.  Winners will be announced at the end of the event.
  • Ducks Nest Merchandise:  We have a variety of kids and adult t-shirts and sweatshirts as well as high quality tote bags that make excellent holiday gifts!
  • Photo Booth:  The photo booth and a paper print are free, please stop by to take a picture with your family!  If you'd like a copy of the digital file, we'll have those for available after the event for a nominal fee.  We're also working on a special framed art project/photo available for purchase.

As returning families may remember, the DNPA traditionally hosted a Spring Gala to raise funds to cover activities for the following school year.  The activities that the DNPA sponsors include:

  • Lawrence Hall of Science Workshop (6-week program)
  • Kindergarten Information Night
  • Classroom Field Trips
  • Fall Festival (co-funded with Duck’s Nest)
  • Holiday Adopt-a-Family
  • Literacy Week
  • Year-End Party

Since we didn't host a fundraising gala in the spring of 2017, we need to increase our fundraising goal for this school year.  While we were able to rely on reserve funds to cover activities that needed planning early in the school year (e.g. Lawrence Hall of Science), we want to ensure that we are planning for the next school year so we can remain within our budget.  Hence the increase in fundraising that you've seen this year.  We're planning to host an event this spring and we welcome your feedback on what you'd like to attend and/or your time to help us make it happen.

We look forward to seeing you at the Fall Festival!
