As a reminder, Duck's Nest is closed for 3 weeks in August starting 8/17 (new school year begins on Tues 9/8). If you need coverage for those weeks, now is the time to start looking into day camps. Sign ups have begun and some offer "early bird" rates during February. Many fill up fast.
When I looked last year, I found only a couple camps that accepted children as young as 3 yrs old (Monkey Business near Tilden Park was one of them). There were a few more for 4 +yr olds (including the Oakland Zoo, Lawrence Hall of Science, Head Over Heels, Kids 'n Dance). The vast majority are for 5+ yrs old. Many are only half day, and only some offer "extended care" hours to cover a full working day.
Start by checking out the options at 510 Families - 2015 Summer Camp Guide. It's always great to have a friend or two (or more!) sign up with your child, so I encourage you to coordinate with other parents in your class - and maybe even carpool!
